Homework: Monday, January 29th

For tomorrow, prepare to defend an argument in response to the Navy Pier High School Scenario.

1. Make a claim (is this or is this not bullying?)

2. Create two REEW sequences:
Reason: Why is this or is this not bullying?
Evidence: What is an example of your reason?
Explanation: How is your evidence a good example of your reason?
Warrant: So what? Why is your reason such an important element of your claim? For example, why does physical violence indicate a situation of bullying?

Week of 1/16: Semester Finals










The English 9 final will comprise of the following:

1. Reading comprehension: fifteen multiple choice questions following a short story (review the packet given to you on Tuesday, January 16th)

2. Composition skills: Choose one of three prompts to compose an argumentative essay by analyzing/interpreting a short story. This essay will be scored on the same writing rubric we have been working with for the entire semester. Review all notes on effective writing and effective argument to obtain success on this portion of the final.
